IODR is appealing for urgent assistance for those afflicted by the Haiti earthquake that struck the deprived Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince on Tuesday January 13th 2010.

The quake measured 7.0 on the Richter scale, with approximately 1.8 million people living in the vicinity of the worst hit area. The number of fatalities is as yet unknown.
